Langar To Go is a proposed mobile service that could help extend access to free vegetarian meals, building on established Sikh traditions of hospitality and equality.
Dedicated Mobile Retail Units (MRUs) would be designed with community partners and experienced food-service operators.
Meals would be free to recipients. Sponsorship and donations could support operating costs.
Before a pilot can begin

Consult Sikh organisations and secure written agreement on roles and representation.
Food safety
Plan registration, food hygiene, allergen controls, water, waste and temperature management.
Operating model
Confirm vehicle ownership, funding, insurance, safeguarding and volunteer training.
